Red Cross Launched Training Program

Author: Century 3       Update: 2017-02-28

Century 3 launched a first aid training program on 17th February, 2017 at Shanghai Office in collaboration with Red Cross Organization. Attended by over 30 Century 3 employees, clients and EHS professionals, the training addressed issues of construction safety and working environment risks, followed by a special first-aid training program tailored for attendees in response to strong need in learning initial assistance given to a victim of injury or illness.

The daylong program brought together company’s employees and clients and industrial leaders to explore what was required in providing a safe and healthy workplace for employees and stakeholders for continued excellence on critical EHS issues. During the forum, Century 3’s showcased outstanding safety performances for the past years and the EHS team shared successful experiences in approaching hazard identification, risk management and use of other safety management techniques.

An informative first-aid training was provided in the afternoon to give guests the knowledge and practice of handling small incidents to emergency cases such as severe choking, heart attack and stroke. The instructor explained the usage of various first aid equipment and facilities and introduced the three critical steps applied in first aid: clean the airway, control bleeding and keep the heart beating. Later on, attendees were required to exercise upon a mannequin to enhance the skills they’ve learned.

“At Century 3, we build and maintain exemplary safety cultures,” said Mr. Frank Hu, president of Century 3. “Century 3 actively encourages employee involvement in EHS practices. We want to equip our workforce with the knowledge to handle an emergency, not only staff who work at project sites where a greater chance of injury happens, but also those in the office. Having first aid training is one of our many efforts to enhance our commitment to providing and maintaining a healthy and safe work environment.”
